Ingredients
- Package of Penne Pasta
- 2 cups of basil
- 6 tbsp of olive oil
- ½ cup of parmesan
- 1 clove of garlic
- ¼ cup of walnuts
Notes about ingredients
- I love using penne for pesto, but you can use any pasta of your choice.
- I also like to use pesto for a spread on sandwhiches, as an addition to pasta salads, really anything you want to add it to!
Preparation
- Fill a medium to large pot with water and a pinch of salt. Place on stove top on medium heat and wait to boil.
- Once the water is boiling, place the penne (or your choose of pasta) in the water and boil for 7-9 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, in a food processor or blender place the basil, olive oil, parmesan, garlic, and walnuts and blend until well combined, in the texture you want.
- Once the pasta is done cooking, place in a bowl and add a spoonful of the pesto on top. Finish with a topping of parmesan cheese on top.
- Enjoy!
